This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use longislandpropertytax.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and plain.

What we collect

Information you provide to us:

• Email address, when you subscribe to updates.
• Optional context: the parcel you searched for, your county, and your zip code, used to send you locally relevant updates.

Information collected automatically:

• Standard server log data: IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, the path you visited, and a timestamp. Used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
• Search queries you type into our calculator (we use this to improve fuzzy matching).
• Clicks on partner links (we record which partner placement was clicked, not personally identifying information beyond the standard log data above).

What we don't do:

• We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
• We don't sell or rent your email address or any other personal information.
• We don't profile you for advertising purposes outside of our own service.

Why we collect it

• To deliver the email updates you subscribed to.
• To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• To produce aggregate analytics (e.g., how many people viewed a town page last week).
• To measure conversion to our partner offers, where applicable.

Email and CAN-SPAM

We comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act. Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link and a clearly identified sender. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking that link, or by replying to any email with "unsubscribe."

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies for essential functionality (e.g., remembering that you've already seen a welcome message). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Service providers we use

Some functionality is delivered through third parties:

• Database hosting — Neon (cloud Postgres).
• Email delivery — Resend, when newsletters are sent.
• Hosting / CDN — Vercel, Cloudflare.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy practices and our contractual terms with them.

Your rights

If you'd like to know what information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or export it, email hello@longislandpropertytax.com from the address you signed up with. We honor reasonable requests within 30 days.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
