Welcome to longislandpropertytax.com (the "Service"). These Terms govern your use of this website. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

longislandpropertytax.com is a free informational tool that produces property tax estimates for residential parcels in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York, using publicly available data published by the State of New York and county/town governments.

2. Estimates only — not professional advice

All figures, projections, exemption amounts, comparisons, and explanatory text on this site are estimates for informational purposes only. They are not:

3. Data sources and accuracy

We pull data from public sources including data.ny.gov, NY State Department of Taxation and Finance, the Nassau County Department of Assessment, and the Suffolk County Real Property Tax Service Agency. While we make reasonable efforts to keep our data current and accurate, we do not warrant that any specific figure is correct, complete, or up to date. Data may be missing, delayed, or contain errors that originate upstream.

4. No guarantees

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall longislandpropertytax.com, its operators, owners, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some links on this site direct you to third-party services such as tax-grievance firms, mortgage brokers, or real estate agents. Compensation does not change the underlying tax estimates we display, which are computed from public data alone.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) scrape, copy, or republish our data in bulk without permission; (b) reverse-engineer or attempt to access non-public parts of the Service; (c) use the Service to harass, defame, or disclose private information about specific identifiable property owners; (d) use automated tools to generate excessive traffic; (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

8. Email subscriptions

If you subscribe to our email updates, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. We send updates about grievance windows, assessment changes, and tax-related news. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nassau or Suffolk County, New York.
